Established in 1995 with a vision to provide innovative and pioneering civil engineering solutions to every project.
To deliver the contract and meet our contractual requirements we developed a structured approach to the delivery of the works which focused on appointing a competent delivery team and ensured that the personnel had the skills to deliver all project outputs. We were responsible for managing the activities of sub-contractors and suppliers, developing, and maintaining a programme of works, for setting milestones and critical dates for delivery, for managing project budget, managing change orders and reporting on the financial status of the project, for maintaining project documentation including contracts, permits, plans, change orders and for managing and coordinating dispute resolution processes. As the Principal Contractor we conducted Risk Assessment processes to identify any potential risks, developed a Construction Phase Plan outlining how the risks would be managed and implemented all necessary control. We ensured that health and safety considerations were integrated into the project from the start and developed pre-construction information packs that included all relevant health and safety information which were provided to all staff and sub-contractors who were delivering the project. We engaged with the Design Team and the client to identify ways in which we could reduce the potential of any risks in relation to the work activities. We appointed a Communications Manager who had responsibility for ensuring that all documentation issued to staff was noted and recorded and that all personnel signed to confirm that they had received the information, understood its application and to confirm that they would abide by all health and safety practices and processes. During the construction phase we ensured that all health and safety measures were followed and regularly reviewed and updated risk assessments to reflect any changing circumstances. We maintained open communications and collaboration among the duty holders and continually assessed the skills of our workforce to ensure that they were competent to carry out the work The Health and Safety Manager engaged with all staff to update them on good practice and to provide access to any additional training needs that were identified. The Health and Safety Manager reviewed and monitored all safety processes and managed the reporting systems to ensure that any required notifications were made in line with regulatory compliance. All works carried out as part of our delivery was conducted in line with our works schedule and delivered to meet all key performance targets that we had implemented at project commencement. We ensured that the work carried out by sub-contractors was assessed by our Quality Manager to confirm that it met the requirements of the contractual conditions under which the sub-contractors were selected. All elements of the work were monitored and reviewed to ensure that they could be delivered against time, cost, quality and performance requirements and we engaged with the client and stakeholders to provide regular project reviews and to advise on project progress, costs, and the quality of the work that we undertook. The Communications Manager maintained accurate records of all meetings and the information that was provided to the client.
An example of a project carried out under this framework was Meigh WWTW Railway Road, Meigh, Newry, Co. Armagh. The scope of works included supply and install of a new spiral screen assembly complete bypass facility after the removal of the existing brush screen assembly and screenings conditioner unit. c/w concrete support stands, pipework, and valves. Works also included carrying out the electrical disconnections to allow for the safe mechanical removal of the existing assembly and the electrical installation of the new assembly. Any repairs/modifications to the fabric of the building necessary due to the removal and replacement of the screen assembly. Commissioning and testing. Update and amendments of all Operation and Maintenance Manuals, prepare As Built Drawings and Health and Safety Files to accommodate all plant and equipment changes generated under the works.
The projects on this framework were carried out under the NEC 3 Engineering and Construction Short Form of contract.
