National Trenching and Ducting Framework Contract

We were commissioned by ESB Networks to complete Cable Ducting on the Letterkenny-Stranorlar-Rossigier 38KV Line. We completed this work in adherence to all relevant safety regulations and standards and ensured the durability and functionality of all works. The project required us complete the laying of ESB ducts in public road verge and private lands by open cut and trenchless methods. We were required to backfill and reinstate road and grass land and the project required detailed and comprehensive liaising with landowners and Donegal County Council the preparation of traffic management plans and road opening licences and PSCS for the project. We were responsible for ensuring that the cable ducting installations followed all relevant safety regularly and the implementation of proper traffic management measures to minimise disruption and maintain safe passage for vehicles and pedestrians during construction. We undertook the design and layout of the cable ducting to optimise cable routing, minimise bends and ensure efficient distribution of cables and in our designs, we considered the potential future expansion and maintenance needs.

In the delivery of this project, we were required to coordinate our works closely with other utility providers and stakeholders, to maintain accurate and detailed documentation, to ensure regulatory compliance, to consider and address all environmental considerations and to conduct thorough testing via the delivery of quality control checks during and after the works to ensure the functionality and longevity of the works completed. By carefully addressing key quality considerations, we were able to meet all time, cost and performance outcomes and handover to the client a safe, reliable and durable completed project.
